AC of the Directorate of Professional Standards on behalf of the Commissioner
"A wide-ranging corruption investigation carried out at the start of 2007 found ‘inappropriate relationships or criminal associations’ among officers and civilian staff posed ‘significant threats’ to the London Metropolitan Police Force. The report says that ‘a growing number of officers and staff are taking drugs’ with cocaine and cannabis as the drugs of choice. Further concerns include the number of officers and staff accused of domestic violence and sexual assault while off-duty, the misuse of the Police National Computer and the abuse of warrant cards and security passes."
