"A clampdown following a spate of suspected “happy slapping” attacks on students has successfully reduced crime near the university. Norfolk police dedicated a PCSO to patrol the University of East Anglia (UEA) campus after the series of robberies and assaults at the end of last year. Students and nurses were being targeted by yobs as they crossed a bridge linking the college with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and forced to hand over cash as a toll."
