"Police officials this week urged residents and business owners alike to begin using a high-tech tracking tool they believe will confound thieves and aid in the recovery of stolen items.
Using the DataDot identification system, users place tiny, almost invisible, adhesive dots, originally developed for military tracking purposes in the 1940s, anywhere on items likely to be targeted by thieves."
