"The Gangmasters Licensing Authority (GLA) will carry out up to 30 “surprise raids” on employers throughout the UK over the next 18 months as part of Operation Ajax. The crackdown will target employers in the food, horticulture, forestry, shell-fishing and food processing industries suspected of employing illegal workers and comes after the death of 23 illegal Chinese cocklepickers in Morecambe Bay in 2005."
