Warning over use of CSOs in counter-terrorism operations

"POLICE managers must ensure that community support officers do not carry out patrols or search cars during the current terrorism alert, the police federation has warned. Julie Nesbit, chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales' constables' central committee, said it was 'vital' that only fully warranted officers carry out street patrols during the climate of heightened danger after the attempted car bombs attacks in London and Glasgow."
