"The Met's air support unit in London is in the process of replacing its fleet of helicopters with the new Eurocopter 145 used by specialist police units in France and Germany. The three new aircraft, which are due to come into service by the end of June this year, will allow the unit to broaden its range of operational capabilities including being able to transport armed units quickly to scenes and allow them to abseil on ropes from the helicopter to gain rapid entry to a building if necessary."
