The federal government is reviewing new legislation that will change how states treat convicted sex offenders and open larger windows for sex crime victims to bring charges against their perpetrators.
Last summer, President Bush signed into law the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act, which revises the national standards for sex offender registration and notification."
