"The government is said to be considering creating individual logins for citizens using e-government. According to Computing, it is part of a larger plan to move major e-government services to core delivery departments. The DirectGov portal has already been moved from the Cabinet Office to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and it is believed that the Government Gateway authentication service could be going to the same way."
