Children’s Secretary Ed Balls and Minister for Young People Kevin Brennan outlined plans to help prevent an estimated 86,000* children and young people from running away each year. The Government wants all agencies to work together to prevent young people from reaching the crisis point where they run away and to keep those that do run away safe from harm. The Department for Children, Schools and Families asked The Children’s Society to look at current provision for young runaways and what more could be done to help them"
