"A new unit of civilian investigators, uniformed police officers and detectives is beginning operations in Central Scotland Police. The Priority Crime Unit will start carrying out inquiries this week. The mix of police staff working alongside sworn police officers, under the direction of an experienced Detective Sergeant seeks to deliver a focus on the investigation many of the crimes and offences which have the highest impact upon communities, such as theft, dishonesty, housebreaking, car crime and vandalism."
